Introduction
Ordo ("we," "our," or "the app") is developed by Caminho Anglicano and is available on iPhone, Android and the web. This policy explains how we handle your information in the app, in the web edition (web.oficio.app and web.daily-office.app) and on this site.
We take your privacy seriously. Ordo is designed as a prayer tool that respects your privacy and collects only the data needed for authentication, synchronization, and app functionality.
Data we collect
Account and sync data
If you create an account or sign in, we process the information needed to authenticate you and sync your data across devices:
- Name, email address, and account identifier
- Profile photo, if available through social sign-in
- Liturgical preferences
- History of completed offices
- Streak data
- What you create in Ordo: journal entries, rules of life, custom rosaries, prayer requests and favorites
What we do not use your data for
- We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising
- We do not track your location
- We do not share your personal information for advertising
- We do not show ads
Data stored on your device
The app may store the following on your device:
- App preferences: theme, font size, and other settings
- Reading progress: history of completed prayers
- Content cache: prayer texts for offline use
When sync is enabled, account data may also be stored securely in the cloud so it is available on your other devices.
Third-party services
Ordo uses the following third-party services for distribution, authentication, sync, subscriptions and error reporting:
- Sentry to record app crashes and errors, with technical data about the device and the error. Sentry Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat to manage Ordo+ subscriptions bought on the App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Perplexity to summarise Ordo+ prayer requests in the weekly collect (see the section below). Perplexity Privacy Policy
- Google Play Services (Android): for app distribution and updates. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store (iOS): for app distribution and updates. Apple Privacy Policy
- Firebase for authentication and secure data storage and synchronization. Firebase Privacy Policy
Prayer requests
Ordo+ prayer requests are stored in your account, grouped by week, and appear only to you, inside your Daily Office. You can edit or delete them at any time.
To write the collect that sums up the week's requests, the text of the requests (title and description) is sent to an artificial intelligence service (Perplexity). Your name, email and account identifiers are not sent, and the text is not used for advertising.
Web edition and cookies
The web edition uses the same account and data as the app. It stores only the cookies it needs to work in your browser:
- ordo_session: keeps you signed in. It is a protected (httpOnly) cookie that the page's code cannot read, and it expires with your sign-in session.
- ordo_prefs: stores the prayer book and options of someone using the web edition without an account.
- ordo_reading: stores the text size, typeface and reading contrast on this device.
- ordo_theme: stores your choice of light or dark theme.
- ordo_locale: stores the language you chose.
The web edition uses Google Analytics 4 to measure usage in aggregate (for example, which offices are opened). Events do not include the text of your journal or prayer requests, your email or account identifiers.
Website analytics
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and general usage. The service does not use cookies or collect personal identifiers. Data may include the page URL, referral source, approximate location, device, operating system and browser, in aggregate statistics. The site stores only one cookie, with the language you chose.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile > Delete account. This permanently erases your journal, office history, preferences and other account data. You can also ask for deletion at the email below.
Security
We use encrypted connections and the security mechanisms of the services that store and process data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Ordo is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe this has happened, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We recommend reviewing this page occasionally to stay informed about changes. Changes take effect immediately after publication.
